Work of the Week: Acura MDX Website and H5

Acura is the luxury vehicle of Japanese automaker Honda, parking its brand at the intersection of high performance and affordability. Popular in North America, Acura has set out to replicate its record sales form in the fastest growing automotive market in the world, having expanded its sales and marketing activities in China. Ahead of the launch of the 2017 Acura MDX, PBB Creative’s digital agency B.dgtal was approached to design and develop for Acura a promotional website and an H5 mini-game.

In line with Acura’s core values of Precision Crafted Performance, the website was developed to create brand awareness for the new SUV, which was launched at the Hangzhou Car Show on 19 April 2017. The promotional mini-game takes the user on an interactive journey where they familiarize themselves with the crossover vehicle’s key features. The promotions are part of an effort for Acura sell 100,000 cars annually by 2020 which would substantially increase the premium brand’s market share in the luxury vehicle market in China which grew 16% last year.
